Curve / Best Of Compilation

"Heavy bass and beats and densely-layered guitar tracks set against Toni Halliday's sometimes airy, sometimes intense vocals" (WP)

Curve's musical style might be described as a mix of pop-rock with a dash industrial, mostly noisy, dark and gloomy, yet never depressive.
When a friend of mine introduced me to "Come Clean" in '98, I was consequently searching for more Curve stuff, but couldn't find anything but the "Cuckoo" album, which, compared to "Come Clean", I found rather disappointing. So, after a while, I lost track and forgot about Curve until,
just recently, another friend showed me "The Way Of Curve".
I was 'in it' again, but this time I made extensive (ab)use of the webs to collect anything I could find...

The Sisters Of Mercy / Best Of Compilation (1982-85)

"Be careful what you wish for. You might get it"
Well, we don't have to worry about that, do we, considering the non-existing output since their last Opus "Vision Thing". Anyway, concerning the Sisters, I preferably listen to the very old stuff up to 1985. And the newly discovered "Good Things" with its relentless beat (from the "1982 Peel Sessions"), gave it a fresh boost.

So I created a CD-length favourites compilation featuring a range of A's and B's, Album and Bootleg tracks. Furthermore, to match the loudness of "On The Wire" and "Poison Door", I cranked up the sound-volume of the remaining tracks to a certain degree. Welcome to the Loudness War!
Some tracks might be exchangeable, and some I wouldn't want to miss for anything in the World.

Peaches / Best Of Compilation

What's there to say about Merrill Beth Nisker aka Peaches?
Well, in Essence, one could go like:

PARENTAL ADVISORY: EXPLICIT KINKY KONTENT!

Deadsy / Best Of Compilation

I love the dark brooding sound of Deadsy. Bass heavy and downtuned guitars
combined with synth elements don't make this band from California unique
by itself, but their arrangements certainly create a haunting mood that
entrances the interested listener right from the start.

The Birthday Massacre / Best Of Compilation

The goal was, as always, not to exceed max. CD playing-time, so it was
actually pretty tough to choose only a few favourites out of the many.

GWAR / X-Cops / DBX / Best Of Compilation

GWAR... Who doesn't love 'em, the rock 'n' roll raping anarchaotics from Antarctica?
For 25 years now they have shook the world of rock and good taste alike.
And, despite their immortality, they don't seem to get tired anyway.

So, for the 25th Anniversary since their first of a long line of hit-records,
I assembled a Favourites-Compilation to celebrate with our
"wonderful down to earth kinda motherfuckin' homosexual
buttraping dogfuckin' kinda motherfuckers we all love".
You now it's wrong. But it's all fun!
